Dr. Martens is a footwear, clothing and accessories brand, and the footwear products are most often known as Doc Martens, Docs, Doc Martens Boots. The Dr Martens concept was first established in the 1940's. Over the years Dr Martens boots have evolved from the famous 8 tie boots to incorporate a whole range of fresh and innovative designs. This special footwear has uniqueness because of its air-cushioned sole, which was developed by Dr. Klaus Martens of Germany.
The Doc Martens boots were introduced in the United Kingdom in 1960. Well known style 1460 doc martens is still in production today. It has special eight-eyelet, cherry-red, Nappa leather design. Doc Martens boots were very popular among some British punk rock band and New Wave musicians in the 1970's and then fans of those musician started wearing them. The boots and shoes then became popular among youth.
