Vans Trainers, the southern Californian based action sports & lifestyle footwear manufacturer sold its first pair of Vans trainers back in '66. Vans were the brainchild of Paul van Doren back in the 1960s. In next to no time the classic checkerboard slip on Vans were seen on Jeff Spicoli a Californian surfer, in the hit movie “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” and the world went fanatical for them. The Vans Classic Slip Ons are specifically produced to adapt to action sports and lifestyle with elasticated gussets at the sides and a reinforced back section for grip and flexibility. Moreover the slip ons do not just come in a checkerboard style! Designs now include tartan, gothic skulls and army camouflage.
