It’s no shock to us that Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl performance would hit headlines this week. Lady Gaga’s halftime performance didn’t have any of the overt political statements that most of us were expecting, however, it did include a message about inclusion.

Gaga kicked off her fiery halftime show at the top of Houston’s NRG Stadium singing ‘God Bless America’ before she transitioned into ‘This Land Is Your Land’. She then jumped from the roof and concluded her intro performance by quoting from the Pledge of Allegiance, ‘One National under God, with liberty and justice for all’.

Lady Gaga then erupted into her main performance which included a medley of her greatest, well-known hits from ‘Just Dance’, ‘Poker Face’, ‘Telephone’ and many more. Her performance was no disappointment and made the headlines this week. She made it clear that she wanted to highlight a message of acceptance by choosing to sing lyrics from her ‘Born This Way’ song, ‘No matter gay, straight, or bi, lesbian, transgendered life/ I’m on the right track baby/I was born to survive.’

The performance ended with a special shout out to her biggest fans, her parents, which gave an emotional end.

Since her performance at the Super Bowl, Lady Gaga has received extreme criticism about her body. She decided to fight back with the following statement, ‘I heard my body is a topic of conversation so I wanted to say, I’m proud of my body and you should be proud of yours.’ Trolls have commented online by saying Gaga looks ‘fat’ among lots of other things.
